We advocate for responsible practices and aim to expose companies that do not follow regulations while raising awareness among watchers to identify bad practices.

WeWhale.org, an NGO member of the International Whaling Commission (IWC), actively works to end whale killing and hunting. The IWC is a global intergovernmental body where member countries discuss cetacean conservation and whaling issues bi-annually. We engage with IWC member states to advocate for the cessation of whale hunting. We provide updates on key outcomes following each meeting, with the latest one held in 2022 in Portorož, Slovenia, and the next scheduled for Lima, Peru in 2024.

Recognizing the need to free captive dolphins and whales, collaborative efforts by organizations and individuals are establishing sanctuaries as a humane alternative. These sanctuaries recreate natural oceanic conditions to provide a safe and ethical haven for these intelligent beings, marking a significant step towards their liberation. WeWhale.org plays a leading role in a European sanctuary initiative, aiming to reintegrate captive marine mammals within the EU responsibly.
