European Cetacean Society Conference 2026
22-25 APRIL 2026
DUNDEE, SCOTLAND
About the event
The European Cetacean Society Conference (ECS) is an annual event that brings together students, scientists and conservationists dedicated to marine mammals from across Europe for five days of talks, poster sessions, video presentations and social events. This year’s edition gathered more than 400 participants, making it one of the largest meetings in recent years.
At WeWhale, we took part in this latest edition, held in Dundee, Scotland, where we presented a poster focusing on the healing process of propeller wounds suffered by Atlas, a juvenile male Iberian orca. The conference was a great opportunity to present our Save the Iberian Orca campaign, talk about this critically endangered population and connect with researchers, conservationists and organisations working in the field of cetacean conservation.
Participating in events like this is a perfect occasion to create new collaborations, exchange ideas, and reconnect with old friends and colleagues from the sector.
You can download the poster here.
