Support us

The WeWhale Association is a non-profit organisation dedicated to cetacean research, marine conservation and environmental education. Through our projects, we collect scientific data, monitor cetacean populations, develop educational programmes and organise conservation initiatives.

Protecting cetaceans requires more than passion and good intentions: it requires long-term commitment, scientific research, education, and the resources needed to turn knowledge into action. To continue our work, we rely on the support of people who share our vision.

What your contributions support

Save the Iberian Orca

One of our main ongoing initiatives is the Save the Iberian Orca campaign, a long-term research and conservation project focused on the critically endangered Iberian orca population in the Strait of Gibraltar.

Through photo-identification, behavioural observations, citizen science, outreach activities and scientific data collection, we work to improve our understanding of these amazing animals and support efforts aimed at their long-term conservation.

Education and Awareness

We believe that conservation starts with understanding. Through talks, workshops, exhibitions, school programmes and educational resources, we help connect people with the marine environment and inspire positive action for the ocean.

Conservation Events and Campaigns

We also organise and support awareness initiatives and public events, including campaigns such as Empty the Tanks, which help raise awareness about the challenges facing cetaceans and promote more ethical and sustainable relationships with marine wildlife.

How donations are used

Every contribution helps us cover the practical costs required to carry out our work, including:

  • Scientific equipment and monitoring tools, including cameras, hydrophones and other research materials.
  • Boat maintenance, fuel and mooring fees.
  • Insurance and operational expenses.
  • Educational resources and workshop materials.
  • Printing costs for exhibitions, events and awareness campaigns.
  • Website, database, maintenance.
  • Participation in scientific conferences and conservation meetings.
  • Volunteer training and citizen science programmes.
  • Personnel costs, including skippers and field scientists.

Every Drop Counts for the Ocean

By supporting the WeWhale Association, you are helping us continue collecting valuable scientific data, educating communities, raising awareness about marine conservation and developing projects that contribute to the protection of whales, dolphins and their habitats. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue this work.
