Last Tuesday, 20 October 2026, saw the opening of the photography exhibition “Dreaming Oceans” in Madrid, organised by La Casa del Lector in collaboration with the Fundación Arango Lara.

The exhibition brings together 32 photographs taken during the Save the Iberian Orca campaign in the Strait, in collaboration with Iberian Orca Guardians, by Cristina Otero Sabio and Alexandra Johnston, together with images taken on board WeWhale Lanzarote by Gonzalo Apesteguía Zamorano.

The event was attended by Janek, founder of WeWhale, along with Cristina and Gonzalo, to present the project and the exhibition.

During the event we shared the research and conservation projects of the WeWhale Association and told the story of each of the Iberian orcas featured in the photographs, as well as curiosities, stories and experiences about the cetaceans found in the Canary Islands.
